About Us
We transform the lives of disadvantaged children in Kigali, Rwanda, through the love for football.
About Future Light Football Academy
Giving Kigali's children the chance to dream, play, and thrive since 2023
Our Purpose
For a child in Kigali facing hardship, a football pitch can be the start of something new. At Future Light, children get a hot meal and water after training, a team that welcomes them, and coaches who believe in them. They also get support to stay in school, with help covering fees and uniforms.
On the field, they build talent, confidence, and teamwork. Off the field, they can learn leadership, IT, music, and dance. Girls are encouraged to play and lead alongside the boys. Every child who joins us gets a chance to grow into who they want to be.
Our Theory of Change
The Theory of Change for Future Light Football Academy (FLFA) is rooted in the belief that every child in Kigali has untapped potential and the right to a brighter future, whatever their circumstances. By offering football as a doorway, and surrounding it with nutrition, education support, skills training, and a caring community, FLFA helps children grow in confidence, stay in school, and discover opportunities they might never have imagined.
Our Vision 2030
By 2030, we envision a Kigali where every child, whatever their circumstances, has a place to play, learn, and belong.
Every child is in school
Fees and uniforms are never the reason a child stops learning.
Safe places to play
Every neighborhood has a safe pitch where children can train and enjoy the game.
Certified coaches
Trained, CAF-certified coaches who guide, mentor, and care for every player.
Girls on equal footing
Girls make up half of our players and lead alongside the boys.
A caring community
Families, partners, and supporters stand behind every child on the pitch.
Brighter futures
Confident young people with the skills, from leadership to IT and the arts, to shape their own path.
